Insight into the sub-prime mortgage lending crisis which rocked financial markets in America The impact and resulting credit crunch experienced around the world from Japan to Europe Are we heading for recession? What lessons can we learn?

3.40 – 4.30	Keynote speaker – Prof. Dr. Hans Leenaars ‘What state do we find Capital Markets in on, today, 17th June?’ US sub-prime crisis as a catalyst - only for today’s turbulent markets Is increased leverage one of the main causes of the credit crisis? or … Is the main cause due to unsupervised lending by bank sponsored entities and non-regulated financial institutions (such as hedge funds, SIVs etc.)? What securitisation changes will we see taking place? New regulatory requirements?
